Spasticity of the wrist and fingers leads to a loss of hand function. In this project, an objective and standardised examination method of wrist and finger spasticity is developed. The method uses data from 3D motion analysis and surface EMG measurements. In order to enable future use for surgery planning in clinical routine, a programme for automated data evaluation is created. The developed method will be tested on 20 healthy arms and 20 patients with wrist and finger spasticity. In addition, the obtained data will be used to create a muscle-bone model to simulate surgical outcomes after spasticity-reducing surgery. The quality of the simulation will be checked against surgical results.
