The general aim of this project is to assess the impact that virtual reality might have onto movements in a 3D motion lab during baseline testing of n=200 professional athletes. Furthermore, the value of VR in return-to-play testing will be assessed. It will be analyzed, whether the implementation of complex, reactive and divers scenarios using VR will unmask motion patterns, which put the athlete at risk for an injury.

Höhe, April 28, 2022 – The online voting at the foundation Else Kröner-Fresenius-Stiftung (EKFS) regarding the field of research as focus for the Else Kröner Fresenius Prize for Medical Research 2023 has come to a close. With roughly 40 percent of the votes and a distinctive lead, the field “Diseases of worldwide significance” topped the list.
The internist and scientist Jakob Nikolas Kather will fill the new Else Kröner Professorship for "Clinical Artificial Intelligence" at the EKFZ for Digital Health at Dresden University of Technology from June 1, 2022.

Krebs, Diabetes, Herzkreislauferkrankungen und Atemwegserkrankungen machen über 80% der NCD-bedingten Todesfälle aus. Trotz dessen hat die Bekämpfung von NCDs bisher nur wenig Beachtung erhalten – nicht zuletzt im Vergleich zu Infektionskrankheiten. Dies soll sich in Zukunft ändern.
