Global health challenges - such as the spread of infectious diseases and the increasing resistance of pathogens to antibiotics, the obesity epidemic, the health consequences of climate change and forced migration - require competent action backed up by relevant research. The Heidelberg Graduate School of Global Health offers high-quality intensive research training in Global Health for medical students, far beyond the level of the usual medical doctorate in Germany. In addition to funding a living stipend and financially supporting doctoral projects supervised by Global Health experts, the Graduate School offers a training curriculum to strengthen methodological skills and subject knowledge as well as fostering scientific exchange.
