MR- and optoacoustic based Immunometabolic Profiling of Rheumatoid Arthritis MIRADOR

Rheumatoid arthritis is the most common form of chronic inflammatory arthritis. It leads untreated to painful joint destruction, massive disability and consequently to high socio-economic costs. Due to the poor knowledge about the development and early phase, many patients are diagnosed too late and thus suffer irreversible damage. Through the application of innovative imaging techniques (such as metabolic magnetic resonance imaging or optoacoustic tomography) in combination with advanced tissue analysis, this project contributes to a better understanding of the disease and thus enables an earlier diagnosis. The aim is to prevent the effects of rheumatoid arthritis.
