Else Kröner-Research College Regensburg – Interdisciplinary Translational Immuno-Oncology

The main research interest is a better understanding of the factors that determine tumor progression and the ability of our immune system to fight cancer. Enrolled in the International Graduate Schools of Biomedicine (BioMediGS) and the Life Sciences (RIGeL) at the University Regensburg, the five college members from general and maxillofacial surgery, medical oncology, dermatology, and neurology, pursue research projects on the influence of regulatory macrophages and lipids on T-cell immunity, the role of the gut microbial flora in the pathogenesis and therapy of glioblastomas, the role of the plasma membrane citrate transporter in the pathogenesis and progression of malignant tumors of the skin, and the identification of novel mechanisms of cell death regulation in cancer.
