Health care in Kharkiv Oblast

Organisation: Libereco – Partnership for Human Rights e.V.
Partner organisation in partner country: X-Traverse

Situation:

There is only one pharmacy and one hospital left in the city of Kupjansk. However, for people from the surrounding villages, these are inaccessible as public transport has been destroyed. Elderly people and those in need of care are particularly affected and have been unable to access medical care since the start of the invasion.

Objectives:

Improvement of medical care for the population of the city of Kupjansk and the surrounding villages through primary care, regular check-ups and specialist medical advice.

Indicators:

Medical records kept by the organization provide information on how the state of health is developing.
Locations are visited once a month, health status is checked

Measures:

Regular examinations, general practitioner care (including dispensing of medication), ultrasound and cardiogram

Sustainability:

The project is an emergency measure in which sustainability aspects are adapted. The medical team documents treatments in order to enable a smooth resumption within the state care system. Regular care visits inform the target group about available assistance and identify needs. The mobile clinic shares these with other stakeholders to allow targeted help to be provided.
