In the context of an integrated programme to improve nutrition and health of women and children in western Nepal, this project aims to support government health services in the district of Mugu. PHASE works in the most remote areas of Nepal with vulnerable and at-risk populations and communities affected by systemic poverty, multidimensional exclusion, socio-economic marginalization and climate-related disasters. By improving the quality of health services, in particular maternal and child services, awareness-raising and health education, and providing training to government and project health workers, we aim for sustainable change in order to strengthen the awareness of these communities that they have a right to health services.

The health intervention is part of a multi-disciplinary programme that also includes literacy classes and girls’ empowerment workshops as well as interventions to diversify and increase production of high-quality foods and market crops to create incomes.
