On June 4th, 2020, the time has come once again: The Else Kröner Fresenius Prize for Medical Research shall be presented for the third time – this time in the fields of "Genome Editing and Gene Therapy".

A researcher shall be honoured who has made significant scientific contributions in the fields of genome editing or gene therapy and whose work in the future can be expected to yield groundbreaking findings. At a sum of 2.5 million euros, the award is one of the world’s most highly endowed international prizes for research. You can learn more about the prize here.

A scientific symposium in honor of the prize-winner where we bring together the world’s leading researchers in the fields of genome editing and gene therapy takes place on the day of the award presentation.

Prize Presentation: June 4th from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

The Else Kröner Fresenius Prize for Medical Research 2020 is going to be presented in the course of a festive ceremony at Gesellschaftshaus Palmengarten in Frankfurt am Main.

Within the framework of the festivities the foundation is also hosting a scientific symposium on the topic of “Genome Editing and Gene Therapy” on the same day (see below).

Symposium: June 4th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The international symposium in honor of the prize-winner brings together the world’s leading researchers in the fields of genome editing and gene therapy. The program encompasses highly up-to-date subjects: from genome editing to vector biology, all the way to clinical applications in the case of genetic disorders.
